This Privacy Policy applies to the KeepTrack: Musical Journey mobile app. Based on the current app implementation, KeepTrack: Musical Journey is designed as a private local-first music lesson journal. The app does not collect, sell, or share personal data for advertising or tracking purposes.
Based on the current app code, KeepTrack: Musical Journey stores music lesson journal data locally on your device first so the app can work as expected. This may include:
Local journal data is stored with Apple's SwiftData framework. The app configures its application support directory with complete file protection where supported by the operating system.
When iCloud is available, supported journal records can sync through the private CloudKit database attached to your own Apple iCloud account. This sync is for your devices and does not use a public database, shared database, teacher collaboration account, or developer-operated journal backend.
If iCloud is signed out, restricted, unavailable, or full, the app remains usable locally and shows sync availability status.
KeepTrack: Musical Journey can record you playing so you can listen back to a piece later. The app asks for microphone access the first time you start a recording. Recording only happens while you start it, and every other part of the app keeps working if you decline the prompt or turn microphone access off later in iOS Settings.
Recordings are written to a protected store inside the app's own container and stay on the device that made them. They are not uploaded to iCloud in this version, so they do not appear on your other devices. Recordings are never sent to a server operated for this app, never shared with any CloudKit database, are not used for analytics or advertising, and are not processed by any AI service, on device or remote.
You can rename or delete any recording in the app. Deleting a recording removes it from your device permanently, because it is the only copy.
You can attach PDF sheet music to a piece. Files are chosen by you through the system document picker; the app has no separate access to your photo library, camera, or wider file system. Attached PDFs are stored alongside your journal data and, like the rest of it, sync only through your own private iCloud account. The app does not read the contents of your PDFs for any purpose other than displaying them to you in its built-in viewer.
The current app version supports written note entry. The app copy and review screens state that raw note text is used only to create an editable proposal and is discarded after save or reject.
Only the structured fields you choose to save become part of your local music lesson journal.
KeepTrack Premium is offered through Apple's StoreKit purchase system. Monthly, yearly, and lifetime products may appear in the app depending on App Store availability and eligibility. Apple processes purchase and subscription transactions.
The app uses purchase entitlement status only to unlock premium features such as unlimited library items and Practice Mode.
Teacher reports are generated on device from saved library data and previewed before sharing. A report may be copied or shared only when you choose a copy or share action.
If you share a report with another app or service, that destination is outside KeepTrack: Musical Journey and is governed by its own privacy practices.
If you contact support at coding98jones@gmail.com, your email address and any information you include in your message will be used only to respond to your request and manage support.
Email is handled by your email provider and the recipient's email provider, outside the app itself. Opening Settings does not send a request or store feedback text; email is sent only if you choose to compose and send it in your email app.
You can archive and delete music lesson journal material within the app. Because app data is stored locally first and can sync through your private iCloud account when available, removing the app from one device generally removes locally stored app data from that device; iCloud-synced copies may still be present on your other signed-in devices until removed through the app or iCloud data management.
